Could a Traffic Jam Save Lives?

Could a Traffic Jam Save Lives?

In Texas, and especially in some of the larger cities, the answer is yes. It’s hard to believe, but during a pandemic year, when many people worked from home, 3,893 people died in automobile crashes. That’s 270 more fatalities than in 2019.

Safety experts lay much of the blame on speeding. During 2020, fewer cars on the roads left plenty of room to put the pedal to the metal. So yes, despite their annoyance, a traffic jam keeps most drivers well-below the posted speed limits.

With more businesses coming back online and more people getting out, we can't count on traffic tie-ups to keep everyone safe. So please, slow down and drive safely. And if you or a loved one is involved in an accident, please contact the Harris Firm for a free consultation. We have been representing clients in these types of cases for more than 26 years. (214)956-7474
