According to a report by IT security company (Cloudflare), Tiktok recently dethroned Google to become the world’s most visited website ? ending the search giant’s 15 year reign as the most popular web domain. ?
Interestingly, TikTok.com also overtook other US technology heavyweights which ranked above it in 2020, including Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, and Netflix. Invariably, this feat made its parent company, China-based ByteDance, the only non-US site to feature in the top 10 spot .
The news came as a surprise given that the viral video app was only launched in 2016, while the likes of Google, Amazon and Netflix were founded decades ago. However, Tiktok has since leveraged the power of artificial intelligence to attract a mass global audience – reaching more than one billion ?active users monthly.
Nexford University: The Tiktok of the Higher Education Space
Like Tiktok, one technology-enabled organization that is doing exceptionally well despite its short existence is Nexford University .
Founded in 2019, this next generation higher institution was named in Red Herring’s list of top 100 innovators alongside global brands like Spotify, Skype, Twitter and Alibaba. Consequently, Nexford became the first university to win this award in Red Herring’s 25 years of existence. ?
Similarly, Nexford was named the ‘Most Innovative Higher Education Brand, US’ at the Global Brands Awards 2020 – a recognition it received alongside longstanding players including the University of Oxford, Harvard Business School, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Within the last two years, this innovative university has admitted over 3,000 learners from 85+ countries into its 100% online and competency based programs (and courses) – making quality higher education affordable and accessible to many.

What Tiktok and Nexford have in common
According to America’s top life and business strategist, Tony Robbins, “Success leaves clues”. This is also true about Tiktok and Nexford’s outstanding successes. A recent study conducted by Neilsen , aimed at understanding why billions of people value Tiktok, revealed some interesting fact that’s responsible for it massive growth. The findings of the study, which surveyed over 8,000 respondents, showed that users considered Tiktok to be authentic – saying that they could be themselves on the platform. Similarly, Nexford creates a real and somewhat relaxed environment where learners can enjoy easy access to their course professors and learn at their own pace.
Beyond this sense of authenticity, Tiktok users also cherished the fact they could access unique content on the platform – often different from what they come across on Facebook and Twitter. Likewise, Nexford’s courses are uniquely designed to help learners acquire in-demand skills and develop relevant competencies in hot fields like Artificial Intelligence , sustainability, e-commerce and cyber security. In addition, this, Nexford’s learners get exclusive access to over 16,000 courses on LinkedIn Learning for free, a robust e-library and premium career coaching via Localized among other benefits.
Another thing that differentiated Tiktok from other social media platforms was the feeling of joy that users often experience – with about 31% of its users including “lifting my spirits” among the top three reasons they frequented the platform. There is no doubting the fact that we all want to be in such an empowering environment, and it’s one of the reasons why 98% of Nexford learners ?would recommend the institution. Nexford also creates a social setting for current and prospective learners to network, learn from career experts and above all else, have fun.
The Power of Community
Perhaps the greatest strength that Tiktok and Nexford share, besides innovativeness and empowering environments, is the sense of community that its users and learners feel. Since inception, Nexford University has been a learner-centric institution that focuses on learner success. Over the years, Nexford has built inclusive online communities including Nexford Network ?a 4,000-member community for prospective learners, current learners, and alumni to interact and support each other.
The rise of Tiktok and Nexford’s global reach within a short period of time has further proven that the future belongs to those who innovate and create enabling environments for others to thrive. Little wonder creativity, innovation and communication are often listed among top soft skills yearly.
Thankfully, these are among the critical skills that Nexford’s learners develop during the course of their online MBA and BBA programs. What’s more, with payments as low as $180/month, you can cost-effectively study from the comfort of your home and earn your degree in record time – and the quicker you finish the less you pay.
To position yourself (and businesses) for global dominance in 2022 and beyond join the global community of learners at Nexford University today.?
