Could the next Holy Trinity be all Electric?
Back in 2014 three Hypercar manufacturers built a similar hybrid car. Ferrari built the LaFerrari, Porsche built the 918 Spyder and McLaren built the P1.
These cars soon become known as the Holy Trinity. The stats show they have almost identical performance. Horsepower, 0-100km and top speed, but we had two wait to 2016 until these three cars were put head to head in an unofficial race. The result wasn't conclusive. All had different characteristics and advantages over each other and the winner came down to your personal preference.
Today the Hyper-Electric generation is here.
Rimac has produced some advanced technology putting them ahead on tech with there Concept two. Lotus soon jumped in with their all-electric Lotus Evija with futuristic looks. Then there's the Automobili Pininfarina Battista, named after the founder of Pininfarina and famous for designing cars like Ferrari for 70 years.
All three are a similar price and almost identical Horsepower, 0-100km and top speed. Could this be enough to call them the next Holy Trinity?
Like the old Holy Trinity, each car has its own appeal. Newcomer Rimac has the tech advantage, Lotus has a racing background that goes back to Colin Chapman F1 days and today is helped with advanced tech from the Williams F1 Team, but none have such a heritage as Pininfarina and the design of the Battista is just breathtaking. Finding a winner of a new all-electric Holy Trinity isn't really important as like the last Holy Trinity it will come down to personal preference.
One thing is for sure, this new generation of car is certainly here to stay and other top Marques and newcomers are joining in to catch a share of this growing All-Electric Hypercar market.

4 年I doubt it Gary, Tesla Roadster would probably blitz the lot of them for 200 grand so probably need to rely on the emotion of a good old petrol engine, ideally V12 naturally aspirated IMHO

4 年Disappointed to see the attacks on your Aspark Owl post. Cars should be judged on their merit, on road and track, and not on social media.

4 年Well two of them are basically the same car... but hypercars are more than their power output...
