Could an extra $35,000 a year make a difference in your life?

Imagine going through a never-ending series of interviews that all end in heartbreak and rejection.

She was stuck in this annoying loop, but it all changed at one point. She chose to get help, which she knew was the right thing to do. She had about 6 years of experience. And she was very open to feedback and eager to apply new methods to get to her goal.

This person was already a strong worker, with skills that would impress any boss. But she had to deal with a big problem: how to communicate, how to make the right pitch, and how to build trust in interviews, which is hard to do. Changes were needed for her.

She set out on a mission to improve herself with unwavering determination. She learned a lot, got better at what she did, and practiced building trust with laser-like focus.

Then it was time to make a choice. She was going to have another interview, but this time it would be different. She was able to tell her story correctly and show the client that she is a great fit for the part thanks to the work she did to prepare. To do this, she used the Job Description to guide some work she did for them before the interview.

She interviewed with 3 companies and got an offer from one. Another company was also showing interest but they were slow.

She got an offer that was 35K more than what she had hoped for. A miracle happened because they worked hard to improve themselves and had the guts to go down a path which was new for her.

This story shows what amazing changes can happen when you challenge yourself to become better and open yourself up to the unknown. It should be a sign of hope for everyone who is trying to make their own magic happen.

Main idea behind this story?

  1. A focussed approach is better than applying for several jobs
  2. Practice your interview, ask for feedback, work on the feedback
  3. Review each JD carefully. Demonstrate work to create instant trust
  4. Try it on atleast 3, one should go to the next round or an offer like above.
  5. Keep improving your soft skills.

Best luck.

You bet it would!!! But these days the market tendency is to cut down compensation at offer time rather than beefing offer up. Some companies are genuinely operating with tightening budget; others are using market condition to their short term ‘advantage’.
