Could closing the gap mean a more sustainable future for our energy?

Reviewing pay gap reporting across the energy industry it’s clear that there’s still work to be done. I believe that a diverse workforce makes for better business, something I’ve seen in action with in a business that is evenly split — in fact currently slightly majority female. There’s even an argument to suggest that diversity is part of the key to us unlocking a greener future — sustainable businesses do, after all, tend to be much more balanced. I want a future which is not only cleaner and greener, but where true equality means that there is no need to report on gender related pay gaps or any other form of potentially unfair discrimination

6 年Hi Juliet, it's fantastic to see the statistics so well laid out and that Good Energy have a lower pay gap compared to the average in the energy sector. I was interested to see such a big swing from a larger proportion of women in the lowest paid quartile compared to the larger proportion of men in the highest paid quartile. I imagine this is due to the gender imbalance at higher grade roles? It would be interesting to see the same quartile data for individual grade levels. Just curious...

6 年YES! So frustrating that we're even having to have this conversation in 2018.
