Howdy!
Coming at you at a crisp 11:01 am while I sit in a biology class, I feel the urge to inform you of all my recent endeavors in running. And also multitask.
Last time we chatted, I informed you all that I am not a planner. And let’s just say my enneagram type has done nothing but prove that. I regret to inform you all that I have not found the time to stick to my strict running schedule. But. That changes this week.
Today I was walking to class in my Lululemon yoga pants thinking that it wouldn’t be too hot outside. I was wrong. It was hot outside. But anyway, I heard tires come to a screech, and realized it was a friend, so I hopped in and was driven to class. Literal best day ever!
One thing about me is I love a good trade-off. I didn’t walk to class today, therefor I should go on a long run, right?
However, another thing about me is I am in a rather intense (but non-competitive) coed intramural soccer team. And let me tell you that involves RUNNING. Except – it’s not just a casual jog, it is a full-on SPRINT. Often, I am mindlessly chasing after men trying my very hardest to catch up.
So does this count as a trade for the long run? Surely not. But maybe I could get away with it?
This past week, I realized the joy of going on a quick run through campus. I don’t understand how, but South Road might be my favorite place to run.
First, the beautiful scenes such as the bell tower remind me of my final goal – the Tar Heel 10. But also, the students walking by make for great motivation to run fast and not stop!
Pause let me get to my poll everywhere for this class.
Okay, I am back sorry for that interruption.

Any who where was I oh yes! This is a real-life photo of me slaying a run through campus at a crisp 7 p.m.
As fellow alumni would say… LIGHT IT BLUE!
Lululemon top (although it is the wrong color blue), and my Hokas.
Let’s get real I think I have enjoyed running in On-clouds far more than my Hokas. But I think I may see a friend to get fitted for a true running shoe. Stay tuned! ?
But this was the first time I felt like a runner. I was just running along at my own pace passing people left and right. And boy oh boy something about it felt powerful. I felt like for the first time I would be the one to survive the Hunger Games because I could run.
Let’s be real, I think I would lose in a footrace to anybody.
I need to get back into the schedule of running. And stick to it because, at this rate who knows if I can run the Tar Heel 10.
Yeehaw, DCAW!

5 个月I think I might just know a friend who can help fit you for a great running shoe... What a great read, Moriah! I happened to run South Road today, too. It's one of my favorites. As long as I am running down it and not up it.
