Couch Potato to Tar Heel 10: I am back!

And we’re back! Another blog post, but this time, it’s to celebrate where I’m at. I’ve jumped back in the saddle, laced up my shoes, and gone for a run, so here’s where I get to chat about that!
This week, the weather has been so un-November-like. Honestly, it’s been more like summer — shorts and t-shirts, with afternoons that are just one sweaty blur. Seriously, when I was walking back from class, I thought, what better way to spend a Tuesday afternoon than to get in a quick jog?
So, that's exactly what I did. I sprinted into the house, dropped my bookbag, and raced out the door.
Now, don’t get me wrong, running can be tough sometimes. It’s that constant balancing act between school, exercise, and hanging out with friends. It’s not always easy to find the time, and it’s a real struggle to prioritize one thing over another. But in moments like these, I’m reminded how important it is to carve out some time for yourself — to run home, drop everything, and just feel free for a few minutes before diving into the next thing.
Side note — and I’m sure some of you will agree with me here: I love the summer. I really do. But seriously, why is it so hot right now? I swear, I should be cozying up in sweats, Uggs, and a nice jacket, yet here I am, reaching for last season's athletic shorts and a tank top, just trying to survive the heat.
It’s the first week of November, yet it feels like the middle of summer! I don’t get it. How am I supposed to sit here and get into the holiday spirit when I’m constantly sweating and reaching for the AC? I’m just trying to get into that fall vibe, you know?
Speaking of which, when is it acceptable to decorate for the holidays? I’m personally a first-of-November kind of gal, because let’s be real — in college, you only have so much time to enjoy the season. But this heatwave is making me second-guess myself. Is it too early? Should I wait?

Well, my housemates and I decided to go ahead and grab the “rusty dusty” Christmas tree from the attic and bring a little holiday cheer into the house. But I’m not going to lie — putting up a Christmas tree on a 78-degree day? It feels wrong. So wrong. But also... kind of fun.
Back to the running tangent — How am I supposed to fit in time to run when it gets pitch black at 5 o’clock in the afternoon? Honestly it still feels like the universe is against me running. Thank goodness for my good friends who push me to my limit!
Anywho, I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you who are following along with this blog. Seriously, your comments have been so supportive, and I’m so grateful for each one of you. Your kind words, encouragement, and thoughtfulness mean so much. I’m excited to continue this journey with you all as I train for the Tar Heel 10! Let’s keep this momentum going, together!
Until next time!
