The Cotton Candy Fix

The Cotton Candy Fix

How a pleasant attitude and cotton candy turned me from an unhappy customer to a happy one!

The Soupy Pad Thai Saga

?My husband and I dined at a Thai restaurant. They had a limited veggie menu - only two veggie items in the main course. The Pad Thai I ordered was more like soupy noodles, and the panang curry was not palatable. They were out of veggie spring rolls, and the only other item—Brussels sprouts?was?overloaded?with soy sauce.

Adriana, the Delightful Server

Adriana, our server, was the sweetest; she was super friendly and pleasant. When I told her I did not like the pad thai, she apologized profusely and left the table, saying she would ask the chef to make a "special" fried rice for me.?

Adriana went a step further. She got us a free dessert, and then,?at?the end, as we were about to leave, Adriana got us cotton candy and told us, "As you eat this, try to remember when you last enjoyed it."

The Sweet Turnaround

After a packed, long day, as I was beginning to feel disappointed, the server completely won me over with her empathetic attitude, likable disposition, and sweet gestures. Yes, the cotton candy was a delightful surprise, but what truly touched me was her gracious engagement and genuine interest in making sure that we left the restaurant satisfied. Her simple statement that as we eat cotton candy, we should try remembering when we last ate it evoked many childhood memories.

What a wonderful testimonial about customer service and the building of a solid reputation for a retail business!
