Cote’s Corner #22: 493 La Mesa Avenue SOLD!

A realtor’s favorite phrase: CLOSE OF ESCROW. Those three words wrap up months of hard work, negotiations, endless forms, sleepless nights, and in this case, a global pandemic thrown in for good measure.

Wow that was quite the ride. Just before the covid 19 disaster hit I was able to secure the listing agreement for my neighbor’s house here on La Mesa Avenue. I was up against two longtime and very successful agents, but through sheer determination, a kick ass broker (Thanks Mark!), and a clear and concise sales plan, Henry and Donna put their faith in me to sell their home. We had it in escrow up until the global pandemic created a financial crisis for the buyers and they had to back out. We quickly got the house back on the market and within 22 days were back in escrow with a local family who were an absolute pleasure to work with.

After only 10 days in escrow (cash is KING people) the property has been recorded and ownership transferred. Big thanks to the buyer’s agent Sander Harth from Compass—a real gentleman and straight shooter.  He’s also a Dad to be, so congrats Sander!

There’s no rest for the wicked so after a couple Helia’s it’s time to get back to work and get another listing, who’s next?  Let’s do this!

In other uplifting news (we need more of that, right?), the beaches here in SoCal are opening up after weeks of being closed to prevent the spread of covid 19. We’re also enjoying a nice run of south swell, a waning red tide, and the water is warming up quick. The red tide was neat to look at at night, but once you’ve seen it a few times the novelty wears off. Give me blue water over the stinky red stuff any day of the week!

PS Home school is going great for Olivia and Jack; surf PE everyday at noon!
