Cost responsibility

The total costs of projects are essentially influenced by decisions made by #part and #mold #designer. This has been proven in numerous studies (EU, VDI, etc.). This responsibility must be taken into account by using #simulation results in parallel with the part and mold development.

#Part #designers reduce the part weight by a plastic-friendly design in associated with a filling analysis. In addition to that the designer ensure that e.g. no air trap or weld lines exists in critical areas.

#Mold #designers are responsible for cylce time and thus directly for the unit cost of the manufactured part. This is because of the propper cooling design which influence directly cycle time. A simulation performed parallel to the mold design shows which cooling channels are working effectively. The mold designer will see in which areas special mold inserts or conformal cooling is needed.

The setter of the #injection #molding #machine will receive all the data obtained in the calculations, such as best injection time, holding time, etc. are given after the mold has been build. This reduces the time to start the production dramatically.
