The Cost of (not) Decoding Ideas

The Cost of (not) Decoding Ideas

We all have ideas that could change the world for the better, if we can accomplish the almost impossible task of getting other people to understand and embrace them.

There are many hurdles in this process - but the first is getting someone else to catch the vision.

Close your eyes and think of one of your best ideas. Does it appear in the form of words or images in your mind's eye?

Now open your eyes and try to share that idea with someone else, are you going to use words or images?

Words are a lot easier to generate - but a lot harder to decode. How can you be sure that the other person will see the same thing in their mind that you're seeing in your own?

Sometimes it's worth the extra cost and effort to depict an idea instead of describing it.
