Cosmecca Korea selected for 2024 Government backed digital twin project

Cosmecca Korea (CEO Im-rae Cho), a cosmetics OGM (Original Global Standard & Good Manufacturing) specialist, announced on April 30 that it had been selected for the 'Digital Twin Innovation Service Application Demonstration to Leading Manufacturing Business'.
As a demonstration project conducted by the Ministry of Science and ICT (taking the lead) and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (dedicated agency) to promote the digital transformation of the domestic manufacturing industry, Cosmecca Korea secured U$1.8 million government funds.
Through this project, Cosmecca Korea plans to accelerate the digital transformation (DX) of manufacturing sites into industry 4.0. Cosmecca Korea aims to improve safety management, improve productivity & efficiency, and improve ESG data management. This will be done by developing a digital twin-based integrated control platform with Wise ITEC, a digital twin and AI specialist company, and two other companies.
According to Cosmecca Korea, the establishment of a smart factory using digital twin technology is expected to promote digital innovation and globalization of the domestic cosmetics manufacturing industry.
'Digital Twin', unlike 'Metaverse', reflects the same data in the real and virtual worlds. Digital twin technology models the factory identically, making real-time manufacturing process monitoring possible. Cosmecca Korea can expect to prevent industrial accidents and improve safety management by quickly responding to crisis situations that occur at the workplace.
Additionally, real-time manufacturing site data is utilized to improve productivity and optimize the production process. By increasing the production flexibility of the cosmetics ODM process, the company will strengthen fit in time (FIT) to customer and market needs. Because this platform enables predictive management of wastewater treatment, it can contribute to achieving ESG goal of minimizing wastewater treatment volume.

Cosmecca Korea Chairman Cho Im-rae expressed his ambition, saying, "By realizing Level 5, the highest level of smart factory, through digital twin technology, we will have the best digital transformation (DX) competitive advantage in the global cosmetics industry." Meanwhile, Cosmecca Korea was selected as the first 'K-Smart Lighthouse Factory' in the cosmetics industry and has participated in various government-led innovation projects such as the 'AI Regional Convergence Specialization Project' and the 'Robot Plus Project'. Through this, it has proven its technological prowess and expertise by winning the Presidential Award for Corporate Innovation and Manufacturing Innovation.
