COSI 2021 Joint Feature Issue

Every year Optica (formerly the Optical Society of America) holds the Conference on Computational Optical Sensing and Imaging (COSI), as part of the larger Imaging and Applied Optics Congress. The last installment of that conference took place remotely, in July 2021. In March 2022, two of the most prominent Optica journals, Applied Optics and Optics Express, completed the publication of their issues featuring works related to that conference, counting with two review publication and 34 research papers.

My sincere thanks to my fellow conference chairs, co-authors and feature issue co-editors: Jun Ke, Tatiana Alieva, Figen Oktem, Gordon Wetzstein and Florian Willomitzer. Special thanks to Michele Bennett, Applied Optics' Editor-in-Chief, for making this joint feature publication possible, and to Ramkumar Narayanswamy, for expertly chairing the congress during such uncertain times. Finally, my thanks to all authors who worked diligently to submit their valuable contributions to the conference and to the joint feature issues. I sincerely hope to see you all in Vancouver, in person, at COSI 2022!
