Now, let's get into it...

The Connecticut State Police ticket scandal is a glaring example of the deeply ingrained corruption and white supremacy that plague our law enforcement systems. This scandal is not just a case of a few bad apples; it's a manifestation of a rotten, systemic issue where police departments are complicit in upholding white supremacist structures at the expense of Black and Hispanic communities.

  1. Blatant Racial Manipulation: This abomination of justice, where Connecticut State Police troopers are accused of falsifying tens of thousands of traffic stop records, is an explicit act of racism. By skewing numbers to show more infractions for white drivers and fewer for Black and Hispanic motorists, these officers have purposefully hidden their predation on brown people rather than ending their bigotry. This is white supremacy in action, using the power of the badge to enforce racial hierarchies.
  2. Institutional Cover-Up and Complicity: The uncovering of the scandal revealed not just individual misconduct but institutional complicity. It wasn't enough that four troopers were fabricating tickets to enhance their records; the real issue is the systemic cover-up that followed. The department's failure to address this misconduct transparently reveals a culture of protecting white supremacy rather than dismantling it.
  3. Mockery of Racial Justice Efforts: The falsification of these records is a direct attack on efforts to address racial profiling and police brutality. By manipulating data to underreport violations involving Black or Hispanic motorists, these officers have made a mockery of the fight against racial injustice. They have not only lied but have actively worked to hide the truth about the extent of racial discrimination in policing.
  4. A Culture of Impunity and White Supremacist Protectionism: The lack of accountability in this scandal is infuriating. Some officers involved retired with pensions, while others faced minimal consequences, showcasing a culture of impunity. This is not mere negligence; it is a deliberate choice to protect white supremacists within the police force.
  5. Resisting Transparency: A Hallmark of White Supremacy: The Connecticut State Police Union's lawsuit to block the release of troopers' names is a testament to the systemic effort to shield white supremacist actions within the force. This resistance to transparency is a tactic straight out of the white supremacy playbook, prioritizing the protection of white officers over the pursuit of justice for communities of color.
  6. Judicial and Legislative Inaction: A Reflection of Systemic Racism: While the scandal has prompted a legislative hearing and a federal investigation, these actions are insufficient. They are mere band-aids on a gaping wound. The system itself is rigged in favor of white supremacy, and without radical, systemic change, these investigations will do little to address the root of the problem.

This scandal is a stark reminder of the urgent need to dismantle the white supremacist structures within our law enforcement. It's not enough to demand justice in this case alone; we must demand a complete overhaul of the system that allows such egregious acts of racism to occur. We must fight against the institutionalized racism that permeates our police forces and hold accountable those who perpetrate these white supremacist ideologies. Our fight for justice and equality is far from over.

And some people wonder why we don't like police.

While I've chosen the enlightened emoji by virtue that that's the only descriptor that resembles my view here - I'm not enlightened by this information; on the contrary, I'm cognizant that this is the way that almost every institution operates when dealing with the Black, Brown and Indigenous People. Mind you, they've had almost 5 hundred years of practice, and equipping these bandits with a "gun and a badge", facilitates ?? Supremacists operating on the bench, Prosecutor's and Police alike to operate in "tandem" courting "Cronyism" and the ability to conduct their nefarious behaviors and business with "impunity!"
