We are working with a prominent government client in Canberra seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Specialist to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your expertise in managing complex IT environments within a dynamic governmental setting.
- Manage and maintain IT systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Utilise virtualisation technologies such as VMware and Nutanix for efficient management of virtual machines and hypervisors.
- Implement and oversee network administration tasks including protocols, routing, wireless, switching, and firewall configurations.
- Foster effective relationships with hardware and software vendors to ensure seamless support and service delivery.
- Independently manage a medium-sized computer network with a focus on efficiency and reliability.
- Implement and maintain information security measures, compliance standards, and disaster recovery plans.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Windows Sever, Linux servers, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Microsoft 365 Administration (including Exchange online), Active Directory management, Hyper-V, Microsoft Exchange Server, PowerShell, Commvault, and large storage environment.
- Apply ITIL framework knowledge to enhance operational efficiencies and best practices.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components and their interrelations.
- Experience with VMware and Nutanix virtualisation technologies.
- Proven track record in IT infrastructure roles managing complex environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server, Linux servers, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Microsoft 365 Administration (including Exchange online), Active Directory management, Hyper-V, Microsoft Exchange Server, PowerShell, Commvault, and ITIL.
- Expertise in network administration including protocols, routing, wireless, switching, and firewall configurations.
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively manage medium-sized computer networks.
- Experience in vendor management and maintaining vendor relationships.
- Knowledge of security administration, compliance, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning.
- Familiarity with Fortinet, web server security, and database security.
- Previous exposure to managing large storage environments.
- Comfortable with hybrid working conditions.
