Morning:

  • Medication Distribution: Begin the day by overseeing the preparation and distribution of medications to inmates. Ensure accurate dispensing and adherence to prescribed regimens.
  • Patient Consultations: Conduct individual consultations with inmates to review their medication therapies, address any side effects or concerns, and provide necessary adjustments.

Mid-Morning:

  • Team Meetings: Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings with doctors, nurses, mental health professionals, and correctional officers to discuss inmate health issues, treatment plans, and medication management.
  • Medication Reviews: Perform thorough reviews of inmates' medical records to identify potential drug interactions, contraindications, and opportunities for optimizing therapy.

Afternoon:

  • Health Education: Conduct educational sessions for inmates on topics such as chronic disease management, the importance of medication adherence, and general health and wellness.
  • Policy Development: Collaborate with correctional facility administrators to develop and update medication policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Late Afternoon:
