Safety Zone – Corpus Christi Ship Channel SHELL VITO HULL II
Issue Date: July 12, 2022
The Captain of the Port will establish a moving safety zone 500 yards around SHELL VITO HULL II as it transits from Kiewit Offshore Services to the sea buoy on July 15, 2022. The transit is expected to begin at 11:00 A.M. and be completed by 11:00 P.M. No vessel may enter the safety zone, and vessels shall not attempt to meet or overtake the tow.
Following the transit, it is requested that traffic maintain 2 nautical mile clearance from the connected tugs and the SHELL VITO HULL II as the tow is reconfigured within a near-shore transition rectangular area defined by the following coordinates: 27° 40.5’N, 096° 55.5’W; 27° 40.5’N, 096° 50’W; 27° 30.0’N, 096° 50.0’W; 27° 30.0’N, 096° 55.5’W. The tugs will be connected by a tow line estimated to be 2000ft at times. Operations are expected to conclude on the morning of July 18, 2022.
