Job Summary:

Lead the Corporate & Social Catering team at a prestigious luxury hotel in San Francisco, specializing in creating exceptional and memorable event experiences. This role focuses on managing all aspects of corporate meetings, social events (weddings, galas, etc.), and other catering functions, from initial client contact and menu planning to flawless event execution. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized and creative individual with a passion for delivering unparalleled service and exceeding client expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver unparalleled service and maintain the highest standards of excellence befitting a luxury property, specifically tailored to corporate and social clientele.
  • Manage all aspects of corporate and social catering events, including initial inquiries, proposal creation, contract negotiation, and post-event follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, social event planners, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Proactively identify and solicit new business opportunities within the San Francisco corporate and social event market. This includes networking, attending industry events, and leveraging online platforms.
  • Conduct site tours and client meetings, showcasing the hotel's exceptional facilities and services for both corporate and social events.
  • Partner with the culinary team to create customized menus and dining experiences that cater to diverse tastes and dietary needs, from corporate luncheons to elaborate wedding receptions.
  • Manage event financials, including budgeting, forecasting, pricing, and revenue optimization for each event type.
  • Oversee all operational aspects of the department, ensuring seamless event execution, including setup, staffing, and vendor coordination.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effectiveness and high-quality service.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication of event details to all relevant departments.
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively address any concerns or requests, demonstrating a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
  • Manage event logistics, including setup, staffing, rentals, and vendor coordination for both corporate and social events.
  • Monitor guest feedback and implement strategies to enhance satisfaction for all event types.
  • Oversee billing and payment procedures, adhering to hotel accounting standards.
  • Develop and implement targeted marketing strategies to promote corporate meetings and social catering services.
  • Train and mentor the catering team on luxury service standards, product knowledge, sales techniques, and event planning best practices, with a focus on both corporate and social event nuances.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of experience as a Catering Manager, preferably in a luxury hotel or similar environment, with a strong focus on both corporate and social events.
  • Proven track record of success in event sales and management, with demonstrable experience in both corporate and social catering.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Deep understanding of luxury service standards and client expectations for both corporate and social events.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage trends, event planning best practices, and diverse catering styles (e.g., plated dinners, buffets, cocktail receptions).
  • Proficiency in relevant software and sales/marketing tools (e.g., Delphi, Salesforce).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment, managing multiple events simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
