In honor of Earth Day, we are celebrating our global partnership with UL Solutions ! With more than 8 million square feet of space at 375+ Ronald McDonald House programs around the world, RMHC is committed to prioritizing sustainability practices in each community we serve.

Read more about the partnership and how UL Solutions’ team members champion the mission of RMHC below:

1.????What made UL Solutions interested in partnering with RMHC and our network of local Chapters?

Cooperation, caring and competency play essential roles in solving the world’s shared challenges and ensuring thriving communities. This is why UL Solutions partners with purpose, sharing our mission of working for a safer world to make an impact on the planet, people and prosperity.

We have proudly partnered with RMHC to advance its sustainability efforts and help provide healthier environments for families with children who are sick while also providing educational resources to reinforce sustainability priorities for RMHC Chapters across the globe.?

“As the organization’s first-ever partner?solely dedicated to supporting their global sustainability efforts, UL Solutions’ scientific expertise is helping support Ronald McDonald House Charities as they continue to provide critical resources and comfort to families with children who are ill or injured. It’s a partnership that supports both organizations’ missions and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by working to provide healthier and more inviting indoor environments for children and families during their medical journeys.” - Barbara Guthrie, vice president of Corporate Sustainability at UL Solutions

2.????How does UL Solutions support RMHC mission delivery across the globe?

UL Solutions continues to advance the mission of RMHC by assessing the conditions of RMHC programs to help provide healthier environments for families, galvanizing our network of employees to give back and volunteer at their local RMHC Chapter and providing educational resources to reinforce sustainability priorities for RMHC Chapters across the globe. As an example, UL Solutions is delivering pro-bono UL Verified Healthy Building services at select RMHC Chapters in the U.S. To earn a UL Verified Healthy Building Mark for Indoor Air, RMHC Chapters undergo an extensive process to demonstrate that each facility has excellent indoor air quality (IAQ).

"We check for specific indoor air quality factors, with a focus on ventilation, filtration and hygiene to help ensure excellent indoor air quality over time. Once we complete a building’s verification, it receives a UL Verified Healthy Building Mark, allowing RMHC families to feel confident that the facilities they need are healthier and more sustainable.” - Sean McCrady, global director of Asset and Sustainability Performance in the Real Estate and Properties group at UL Solutions

3.????How do you galvanize your network of thousands of employees to support mission delivery in their local communities?

“As part of our partnership with RMHC, we launched our new global employee volunteer campaign, Families Helping Families, in which all members of our UL Solutions family can help support the millions of families served by RMHC each year. Our volunteer campaign goal is to support more than 1,000 RMHC families and make a lasting positive impact on the health and well-being of our communities.” - Tina Vaughn, senior manager of Social Sustainability at UL Solutions
