A Window Genie Franchisee Success Story!

When Franchise Broker Cary Schneider first met Lindsey Sharpe in December 2019, Lindsey expressed that he’d been interested in owning his own business from a relatively young age. Lindsey was first exposed to business ownership immediately following his college graduation in 1992 when he went to work for a family business. Following that, Lindsey spent many years in the corporate world in the oil industry, which required him to be away from home more than he wanted. 

Fortunately for Lindsey, he reconnected with an old college buddy, who reminded him of his passion and desire to own his own business. This reminder, along with prayer, got Lindsey to start exploring franchise ownership and ultimately led him to Cary. 

How does an oil field expert decide to become a Window Genie franchise owner?

When Lindsey and Cary met, Lindsey did not have any pre-conceived ideas of what type of business he wanted to own. Through many in-depth discussions together and in utilizing some additional resources, Cary began to formulate a picture of what was important to Lindsey in not only a successful business model but also Lindsey’s desired life with his family beyond work. They explored franchise concepts in Senior Care, Food & Beverage, the Pet Industry and even Security. Although all of these concepts had some appealing aspects to them, Window Genie resonated with him on a personal level and what they offered from a holistic standpoint. 

“During validation and research, I learned how I could make money in the business and make it work both as an individual unit basis but also scale the business in the future.” Said Lindsey. “Additionally, they (Window Genie) walked me through how to hire, price, etc. and answered all of my questions, whereas the other brands I was exploring didn’t provide that same experience through the discovery process.”   

Lindsey shared that Cary’s approach is what he appreciated most about their working relationship.  

“If there is one thing I have learned,” said Cary, “It’s that each individual I work with is on their own time-table. Investing in a business is a big decision and in no way should someone ever feel pressured. Lindsey utilized a lot of information to aid in his decision-making process. I seek to serve as a resource for them in helping them find the information they need to feel comfortable.”

Lindsey Celebrates 1-Year in the business!

Lindsey officially opened his Window Genie business in March 2020 and is now celebrating his first year as a Window Genie franchisee servicing the western half of the Omaha, NE. With over 150,000 households in his territory, Lindsey could not be any happier with his first full year of business.

“This business has provided me with real hope.” Said Lindsey. “I used to be gone a lot, away from my family. Now I’m able to be home more and can be involved with my family’s activities.”
