With no corporate employers in the borough, high levels of child poverty and single income households, most young people have limited or no exposure to positive role models.
Just last week I managed to talk to young people still at school who desperately wanted access to work experience in city firms, but had no idea how to get there.
Urban Synergy has been working with Thomson Reuters, Barclays, UBS and Capgemini since inception. Illuminating pathways, connecting young people with a network of positive role models to help them reach their full potential - life chances should be open to all.

We took the above group of 14 Mentees to Aston University in Birmingham to learn more about the Capgemini Apprenticeship scheme. It really does pay to prepare young people for corporate opportunities, I’m proud to say that Urban Synergy Mentees stood out from the crowd of the 70+ students that attended the conference.
Poverty can be tackled but only if we all work together and with corporate engagement to Unlock Talent
We need more opportunities and resources to run more programs like this.
