On Corporate Loyalty and What is Happening in Twitter

I have recently been asked about the concept of corporate loyalty. In my humble opinion, corporate loyalty is a very romantic idea. May be it belonged to the times of family owned businesses ... and may be it still exists in some places.

Loyalty comes from the heart and not the mind. Loyalty is when you stay beside a company in its time of need, while you have the ability to move on and seek your best interest. Loyalty means that you go the extra mile, keep developing yourself to see your company grow irrespective of your immediate interest.

But loyalty does not come with a press of a button. It does not happen because your company pays good salaries ... it does not happen because they give you seasonal gifts ... Many people left companies saying the hell to their seasonal gifts

Loyalty can not come from a relationship that is based on pure benefits. From a place that gives you just what you are worth ... that keeps you around only when it needs you, and if the tides change, it does not

Loyalty comes when both parties in the relationship genuinely cares about the other party. When each one seeks the problem the other has, whether it is financial, emotional, or perosnal

Loyalty does not come when you give the employees their rights, because simply it is their rights. As I mentioned, loyalty comes from the heart. The employees need to feel that you want what is best for them, and that the corporate genuinely cares about their best interest, stability, and peace of mind.

With all due respect to all the efforts done by some coorporations, the answer is not to through your employees a party (even if it is a nice one), or offer them a nice trip every now and then. The only answer is genuine care

This has nothing to do with the ammount of efforts one does in their job. I personally think that as long as you have accepted a job you should do your absolute best regardless of how your corporate behaves. this has nothing to do with loyalty. It is just the normal behavior of a normal human being

Loyalty is a very romantic idea .. may be it still exists ... but in the world of multinational corporations speaking about loyalty is plain naive
