Corporate Greed – Blood on their hands- Profit at the cost of the lives of many innocent people.

Boeing is (was) a good Company, Blood thirst management ruined the reputation of the company.

Statistics and ISO 9001/AS 9100 ruined our manufacturing industries.

Our country is in big trouble, especially the manufacturing industries, it has become a critical issue in the wake of the crash of 737 Max 9. When you search through YouTube, you may see several pages talking about Quality, Safety, Reliability and Communication within the Aerospace Industries. It is shocking to learn that from the transportation secretary Mr. Pete Buttigieg, US congress, FAA, NTSB, Boeing CEO, and many working VPs & Directors with the Boeing Company are responsible for the approval of defective aircrafts and sold to their customers.

Severity of problems: Boeing got engineering exemptions when there are issues with the component, sub assembly, major assembly, supplier furnished assemblies and subassemblies, supplier designed products. Any deviation from the original design makes custom made plane, deviations from the original design make the airplanes quality degrade and riskier. Generally, manufacturers adjust the original design, to meet the promised quantity or to meet the delivery schedule.

If you look at each of these actions, there is no quality to stop any of the illegal actions approved by the government bodies and the Boeing management.

There are some untold truths hidden in the quality system, has something to do with AS9100, application of SPC, Six Sigma, Len Six sigma and communication. Lacking strong command media of quality is evident here. Recently, I have reviewed ISO 9001 to check what kind of instructions contained in that standard, but one thing I have noticed is that 147 placed called out “Shall do this” without any proper specific instruction What, Where When and How. Hopefully AS 9100 should have the same commands without proper instructions. Statistical Process Control (SPC) has its own problem, first of all it is not a mathematical formula, it is based on numbers, a number game and the outcome can be changed the way they wanted it. A simple explanation is as follows - in statistics there is no 100% conformity, it will be like 95% compliance with 5% margin of error, uncertainty, risks, failures etc.

I recommend stopping the use of AS9100 and the application of statistical tools of any kind and instead use the model of the old MIL-Q-9858 with that more accurate quality manual can be created and ties to the work instructions and the shop traveler.

This system helps to tailor quality into the manufacturing process, no need for data collection and analysis to check the quality of the product, the system has the ability to create charts and graphs if needed to show the management and the customer.
