Corporate Culture and Creativity

Corporate Culture and Creativity

We talk so much about corporate mindset/culture. But do we really understand this?

Corporate mindset/culture is how a company processes information, both incoming and outgoing. And it depends on how the company perceives reality, what choices it makes, what actions it takes, and what results it gets, including, of course, financial ones.

Corporate culture is made up of a system of basic values, attitudes, ideas that are formed in the group conscious and group unconscious.

Corporate culture (perhaps, surprisingly) emerges on its own. What I am leading here to is that working with corporate culture does not mean inventing something, sit and decide and solve it. How, for example, to set up another meeting (be it a management one or another) and decide at it that we should have such and such values, as, in fact, often happens.

The bottom line is that corporate culture is not about sitting down and deciding how we (the company) want, corporate culture is what we already have.

And work with corporate culture is to realize and formulate those ideas, values that already manage the group, the company. And as a result of such work, many things for the company/ managers become more transparent and obvious. And here comes an understanding of why some decisions are made, while others are not, why something works out, but something does not.

?The main trouble of any business - big or small - is a lack of imagination, not capital. Paul Hawken

Creativity is the ability to create: new thoughts, perceptions, ideas, meanings. And as a result, generate new solutions, get different results.

Every person has creativity. Creativity is the basic natural state of the human psyche. People tend to be creative. But not everyone can show their creativity.

The dream of every owner/manager is a team of creative, active, responsible, involved employees.

People are always as creative as the structure allows them to be. Rick Warren

What is necessary to realize this dream?

It is important for leaders/ managers/ owners to understand:

  1. Creativity is incompatible with fear. In any organization, either fear or trust prevails. Where trust prevails, conditions are created for the manifestation of creativity.
  2. Creativity flourishes when people do what they love.

Therefore, the main task of the management in a company:

  • create an atmosphere of trust within the team;
  • distribute work according to the strengths and weaknesses of each employee.
