Corporate Culture And Carsaver Life

Corporate Culture And Carsaver Life

Let's talk about CULTURE and the workplace! Let's start by saying that I have had positions where I have made a lot of money, but I've been miserable because the culture of the company and the leadership had values that didn't align with mine. I've had the opposite as well and then the in between.? Leadership to me is a partnership with their employees.? Happy employees that are respected and treated well will work longer and perform better overall.? I went to Manheim Southern California in 2008.? We were the 5th largest auction at the time.? We moved to number 4 and increased profit 40% in 3 years.? We reduced headcount from 535 to 386 while doing it.? The interesting thing is our employees were HAPPY.? We were a great TEAM.? Our executive team was led by Tim Van Dam. ? I hope that I will have the opportunity and pleasure of experiencing a culture like Tim? created at Manheim Southern California.? We had by far the best executive team that has been created in my professional career.? We were diverse. We had great Mensa minds like Darren Teague, we had the accounting mind of Tom Wemhoff, our controller, Jessica Albright was more operational than most and brought great insight to the team. Richard Dyer was the final cog in the team that brought us all together and kept us grounded with his many years of operational expertise.? I bring this in for reference to a very recent experience that I had with another company.? I met with the C.E.O. at the Four Seasons.? He was dressed in pants and flip flops which I found to be somewhere between odd and refreshing.? He told me that he wanted me to come in and build a culture that was like Google.? He wanted me to take care of the associates and make sure they were happy.? He said that there will be days that my job will have me take part of the staff for massages and that the new office that was promised would have a meditation room and we would invite the associates to be comfortable enough to use it.? The office would have a PS5 so that while the coordinators were waiting, they could play it.? I thought I was going to have my opportunity to create the team that my mentor Tim had done.? I started down this road with this company because I believed in the product and I believed in the philosophy.? I hired people with this thought in mind.? Even though we were open 7 days a week, I scheduled staff with time off and hours that weren't overwhelming.? The problem was that the executive team above me didn't really want that to happen.? They told me I needed to be there before anyone got there and leave after.? That was 7 days a week from 7 am to 6 pm.? They didn't like the hours that I set for the staff and the office that was supposed to be Zin like and fun to work at was far from that. I had met Kristina Lutz through this experience.? I had learned about their company and the other people that I worked with in the company had the same attitude that she did.? I was impressed.? I applied and met multiple leaders within Carsaver.? I found out after I started that the H.R. manager was interim but he came back just to help out.? That said volumes! They were all lovely, POSITIVE PEOPLE! I was even more impressed. Since starting at CarSaver , my opinion hasn’t changed.? My manager, Anthony Ascione was described by a LARGE GROUP G.M. as one of the “good guys” when he was with his prior company that he was at for 15 plus years.? I am very happy to say that I feel like we are building the type of team that I experienced back in the mid 2000’s to early 2010’s.? Kudos to Chad Collier and the the rest of the team for starting this culture.? Kudos to the people that are coming on that will continue it.? We work hard and have one of the coolest new products in the automotive dealership vertical.? If you want to be part of this, dm me or apply online.? If you want to know about the Upgrade Platform that is bringing SOLD customers NOT leads to you, dm me or any of the Carsaver team.
