Corporate Coaching in 2024

The Gartner Survey conducted globally across 500+ HR Managers show an alarming trend. The report is a cause of concern for many an organization and it is imperative that the HR and Business team need to work together to work through this "impending crisis".

The survey states that employees do not feel equipped with the various technology advancements and neither are they comfortable in their current role. Career paths are not clear and mobility within the organization is not either nor easy! This leads to increasing frustration to all Managers and the Leadership team.

Technology has been advancing so rapidly that the organizations are left catching up. Even though the Leaders have identified the potential and chalked the investments required, the roadmap to equip the current employees with the planned strategies is lagging by a long way.

How to create a Win-Win situation for the organization and the employee is possible, though not easy. This needs multiple organizations to come together, to help the employee - Business, L&D and the Technology leaders. With individual KPIs to work towards, this is not easy as it may sound. This most often needs help from an experienced corporate coach, internal or external.

And a good coach can help an employee, though working on their business-specific projects, understand what this learning initiative means to them. Helping an employee learn new technologies is not as easy as setting yearly goals of X hours learning to be completed. It needs the employee to understand how this initiative helps them in the longer run, not just the organization. Only then, organizations can thrive in the era of new technologies.

It is also possible that an employee is not aware of his own abilities and his fitment to a different role or technology - in this case too, a corporate coach plays a critical role to go deeper into the psyche and help them identify their strengths and improvement areas on their own! I did talk about listening to employees earlier.

This situation does not call for a test of their capabilities by using industry-standard tests. Yes, it does help(if accompanied by a certified analyst who can help pinpoint the strengths of an employee).

Coaching, as we all know, is to enable the employees realise their individual traits themselves and then helps them decide on their future plans. This is what world-class #corporatecoaching brings to the table! I hope you agree. What other areas would benefit from corporate coaching?

Many organizations need it, especially the ones that carry the baggage of non-productive, long-serving people just waiting for their retirement and have become obsolete in terms of technology and creativity..
