As the world goes into a lock-down mode, the majority of the working professionals have been advised by their organizations to Work-From-Home (WFH). For sure, this is the right decision given the health hazard we are facing with coronavirus.
During normal times, WFH was a stress-buster but it feels different this time around. As a Corporate Coach, I get several questions from my clients dealing with this sudden shift to WFH...
1) Other than the IT industry, how does this WFH option even work for brick-and-mortar companies?
2) Even within the IT industry, how do managers and leaders handle WFH to engage with their respective teams efficiently?
3) With news media updating coronavirus cases by the hour from around the globe, how can I keep the focus on my job? Not to forget, schools are closed and children are at home too.
There are no easy answers to the above questions right now, but as we battle this crisis as one large global community I feel the obligation to help as many corporate professionals as I can. The only reason I feel I can take on this topic is the fact I have been in WFH mode past 18 months, since the time I qualified for my Ph.D. program which actually requires a quiet setting for the research study.
If you would like to engage in formal coaching sessions with me, I will happy to be your sounding board, so that we jointly can figure a way to navigate these tough times. As the disclaimer states, this is NOT a clever marketing idea to onboard new clients.
