Today, a wonderful story of a bold young teenage entrepreneur jumps in to help feed the elderly in the Southside of Chicago. Angel LeShey, President of Bamenda Coffee Comp. Inc. also donating her coffee to volunteers...
During these troubling times, instability, fear of food shortages, health issues, financial insecurities hitting our country, all you hear everywhere is the Coronavirus doomsday gloom. But today I heard such a beautiful story about a young lady, African American, entrepreneur who has her own coffee company, with imported coffee from her family's native land-Africa, volunteering to make a difference & bringing love into the mix. We need to hear more inspirational stories so people can truly see hope happening.
"Kanye West Donates to Chicago & LA Charities to Feed Children and the Elderly Amid Coronavirus" story by Darlene Aderoju, for People.com
"Today when I got that call, that Kanye West wanted to help the elderly in Chicago and he chose his hometown in the Southside, his old neighborhood, I was beyond words," Josephine "Mother" Wade tells PEOPLE, https://people.com/music/kanye-west-donates-charities-amid-coronavirus/. People joined in to make a difference, bringing in hope, love, & respect to our most vulnerable, our seniors, who count on nurturing help & currently where many do not understand what is going on in our state & city.
What would life look like if more young people & teenagers stepped forward & shared a little of their time pouring into those that did so much for us over the years? Seniors are so vulnerable from health, loneliness, & mental illnesses for some who have those issues in the forefront, or others that just love having company & speaking to someone could make a world of difference in their life. Over the years when my mom was living at a nursing home, I remember seeing her get excited to see me, or meeting new people when they stopped in. Though she is now in heaven, she always loved being social & the other residents were also so curious to meet you.
Angel inspires me so much knowing that she cared enough to help & today was reflecting what a good citizen role model should look like. Her parents should be so proud, as I know they must be, when her father, Felix, shared the story today. All I knew was that I wanted to pass it forward & inspire others as well, to bring a warm feeling to someone's heart of hope. You see it took one person to create the opportunity, then others to step forward & volunteer. In the end it took a village to make a difference today in Chicago & the Southside, great things do come out of Chicago. The evolution & transformation of our city, our State of Illinois, & our country can be one of hope & healing, where people finally can start loving & respecting each other more, where the outcome of Coronavirus becomes the opposite of it's mission. Thank you Angel for the incredible heart you have & the love you shared...
