Coronavirus & The U.S. Real Estate Market

From my own research and speaking with others who are pragmatic about issues like this I believe it to be critical to our world economy to be extra cautious over the next 6 weeks.


This pandemic is much more serious than the traditional Flu and even more serious than Swine Flu was.


If CoronaVirus ONLY killed a quarter of our elderly population of above 80 years old... that's 3% of our population. 3% also happens to be the figure the Washington Post through out. We have a population of over 330 million we have approximately 40 million persons who are 80 years old and above and 25% of that would be 9.9 million. That would have been the largest pandemic in our lifetimes...


Luckily for us schools are shutting down, concerts are shutting down, and people are traveling less... because of this self quarantine the CDC believes we will only have 1.7MM deaths in the US... I still think we can do better if we move fast.


Even at 1.7 million dead... that's a TON of deaths! Other countries are already digging mass graves for their dead and it's still not fast enough.


This isn't "media hysteria"! CoronaVirus is currently killing 2.9%-3.9% of effected individuals in the United States alone.

Coronavirus is especially concerning because it's an airborne virus AND because it may not be detected for up to two weeks... So now that that is put into perspective...


The only way to slow this down is by quarantine. Which is why I have decided to postpone all in-person events (local Meetups included) for at least the next 6 weeks.


From the bottom of my heart, I ask you to do everything possible to help slow down this virus. Even if YOU are healthy, you owe it to others to protect our young children, people with health concerns, and our elderly.


As an "influencer" (in quotes because it's still awkward calling myself that), I feel it's my duty to speak honestly and openly about my strong impressions that we all ought to cancel our in person meetings, travel, meetups, and events. For sure until April but again I am doing 6 weeks as my starting point.


Hospitals are not equipped to deal with this at the level it's projected to be in two weeks if we don't take these extra precautions.
