It's been trending everyday on LinkedIn since the onset of the Coronavirus Pandemic with thousands of readers.
The Coronavirus question everyone is asking, "Who's Hiring?"
Communities across the nation are banning together like never before and small businesses are still on the grind to make ends meet.
But nearly overnight, small-business and creative services firm, Green Pasture Designs, answers the call to serve its community, creating CincyJobPortal.com - a centralized resource assisting job seekers who have been laid off due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
“As a creative, I can identify with gig workers and freelancers,” said Jessica Shely, Green Pasture Designs Founder and Chief Creative Officer. “Our firm wanted to create a resource for the Cincinnati Tri-State community so that both job seekers and organizations hiring during this time can access a quick and easy solution.”
With this new platform, Cincinnati joins New Jersey and Los Angeles on the list of regions who are supporting their communities by building a centralized resource for individuals who are looking for work amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
CincyJobPortal.com is among other resources organizations in the Cincinnati region have created to meet the needs of the community during this time. Among them is COVID19CommunityResources.com. A website initiated by Cincinnati City Council member Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney and President & CEO of the Center for Closing the Health Gap, Renee Mahaffey Harris. The platform seeks to inform the African American community and other underserved populations of resources available to them.
Vic Green, a local musician, business owner and licensed barber of 13 years was forced to seek other employment after Governor Mike DeWine ordered barbershops, hair and nail salons to close. He looks to CincyJobPortal.com as a trusted resource to find companies that are hiring.
“I was able to visit the site and sort through open positions by company,” said Green. “It was easy to navigate and I’m currently waiting to hear back on an opportunity I applied for through the portal.”
Companies interested in submitting job openings can do so here.
