The CoronaVirus is now considered a Global Epidemic, affecting people worldwide with unimaginable repercussions for Countries, Business and ultimately individuals.
The WHO ( World Health Organisation ) is providing guidance and many insights on CoronaVirus Disease ( COVID-19 ) outbreak. This includes guidance on how to wear masks effectively to protect disease spreading.
Also the The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services ( CDC - Centre Disease Control ) created a directory for guidance to help people, from CoronaVirus disease background to prevention and treatment measures.
You can even find a video watch on Corona Virus Hand-Washing guidance. More info at www.cdc.gov/handwashing
Now many worldwide events have been cancelled and postponed, personally I have been affected too with an event Cancellation in Croatia.
CoronaVirus is definately an inconvience and a life threatening issue, however I would like to help event organisers, brands, comapnies, professionals and any other stakeholders to make the make of the online capabilties and see it in a different way, AS AN OPPORTUNITY to do something different, and think outside the box.
Alternatively, running a lifestream online seems to be an excellent idea to counteract the potential effects and impact of the CoronaVirus. Also this gives event organisers not only make sure that everything arranged can go ahead, but all the content, speaker engagements and other activities can also be carried out. But also gives them an opportunity to reach wider audiences and connect with a larger community.
I would also like to leave here a few suggestions for brands to think outside the box, and for event organisers, and those impacted by Events cancellations. A great example was MWC 2020 ( Mobile World Congress ) in Barcelona. If I was a brand....I would be thinking .....
- How can I carry out activities to reach new audiences ?
- Can I make small events more meaningful ( and more of them ) ?
- How can I create exciting more exciting internal events ( invite appropriate people, clients, industry experts, influencers, press etc ) ?
- How can I sell online tickets ( If applicable ) ?
- How Can I keep your audiences ( clients ), attendees engaged ( don’t lose them and all the hard work during the years )
- How can I build in the opportunity to engage more people ?
- A perfect moment to stop, revise the Influencer Marketing strategy ( and all the marketing ).
- Who can I work with that can help ...Influencers, Tech Experts, Speakers, Coaches, Industry Leaders and so on...Ho
In conclusion, where there is a crisis there is also an opportunity. It has been always like that historically. Do you remember when Wall Street crashed in 1987, there were people losing it all BUT many people making fortunes at the same time, that's the nature of business uncertainty.
