The Coronation
On January 20th, 2017 America embarked on a journey of fear, lies, deceit, racism, and poverty, the harbinger of the Donald trump presidency.
His theme “To Make America Great Again” assumes that America has fallen on hard times, and all it needs is the Trump DNA to be truly great, even though it has the largest military in the world, the world’s largest economy, and is the stabilizing force that keeps civilization moving forward.
He attempts to instill fear by telling us we are in danger from terrorists who are crossing our borders every day, and from the marauding criminals that run rampant in our country
He promises to make us safe by banning Muslims from entering the United States, by deporting illegal immigrants and sending troops to Mexico, Chicago and wherever else to stop the cartels and criminals.
He’ll bring jobs back by eliminating trade agreements and putting tariffs in place on those countries that lured jobs away from America.
He’s going to reduce taxes providing more investment capital for corporations and more income for their employees, and greatly reduce regulations on business.
He is going to curtail the efforts to slow climate change, which he sees as bad for business, and has put a gag order on the EPA scientists to never mention the phrase, climate change, or speak of their activities within the EPA.
These are but a few of the President Trump policies, that if enacted will leave a legacy of citizens unable to exercise some of their constitutional rights, and where the wealth will become so concentrated, poverty will be indigenous to America. Then there is the possibility of a global nuclear war, something no one wants to think of.
The more you begin to understand President Trump a frightening personality emerges. A personality that can’t tolerate any negative assault on him, or his ideas. A personality that needs adoration and has no limits to which it will go to achieve that veneration. A personality that has the appearance of a narcissistic disorder.
The Republican right recognizes President Trump’s unstable behavior, but they also see in him someone who will make their decades long agenda to minimize taxes and privatize most government functions, a reality. So, they will cater to him, sate his personality demands, forgive his political faux paus, and hopefully avoid his impeachment.
They began by supporting his cabinet choices. All of which are in the image of President Trump, who can only see himself as succeeding in each position. Therefore, they are mostly wealthy business people who are racist, science deniers, anti-labor, anti-public education billionaires who have filled the swamp, rather than drain it. A perfect group for the Republican majority House and Senate.
President Trump’s delusions of the crowd size at his coronation and the number of illegal votes in the presidential election will more than likely be used in an attempt to reduce the size of the electorate in favor of the Right by enacting more voter ID laws.
However, it is the tax cuts that will put the American economy back in another Republican depression. The wealth is already highly concentrated, and the Trump tax cuts will exacerbate this condition, while creating an economic disaster for the middle class. This is called Trickle-down Economics, a system that has never worked for the middle class. It is nothing more than giving money to the wealthy through tax cuts and credits, and assuming they will invest it in businesses, which in turn will begin the trickle-down theory of generating higher employment and wages. The only economic system older than trickle-down, is bartering.
Let’s look at these corporations who had their jobs lured away from them to Mexico and Asia. They weren’t lured away, they were out-sourced by American CEO's looking for higher profits, American CEO's who see their employees as nothing more than a number on the cost-of-sales statement, where continuing reductions mean higher profits, higher profits to corporations who are enjoying record years. These are the people that President Trump envisions as the worker’s savior.
The American worker is trying to survive in a mature capitalist environment, that has evolved to the time of the oligarchies, where only a few corporations in each industry exist, and its’ only getting worse as corporations continue to merge, eliminating even more jobs and stagnating wages.
We are at a critical period for getting Americans employed. There are almost two million jobs that American companies can’t fill because there aren’t enough qualified candidates.
What the American workers need is a free education plan that will give them the trade and academic skills for the jobs of today and the future:
Not someone making false promises about bringing jobs back that no longer exist.
Not sending immigrants back to their countries of origin.
Not exacerbating the wealth gap.
Not sending troops to Mexico, Chicago, or the China sea.
Not stopping the work on climate change because it’s bad for business.
And so many other toxic nots.
If something isn't done to stop and reduce the trillion-dollar student education debt, its' going to become the bubble that starts the next recession. How shameful it is for a country like ours to charge its' youth exorbitant amounts to get an education, an education that benefits each of us.
This trillion-dollar debt is also slowing the economy. College graduates, their parents and their grandparents burdened with this huge debt have little, or no disposal income to spend.
President Donald Trump is being driven by a narcissistic personality disorder. And an anachronism called the Republican Right, is attempting to control, and use him for their dated, intolerant social values, and wealth driven agendas. A concoction that will ultimately reach critical mass.
