Corona, we are stronger than you!

What is our responsibility as managers while dealing with the Corona crisis? In my view, we have a critical role now: we must support our people during those uncertain days, to be there for them, navigate the ship to the right direction (our team and field), recalculate trajectory, make sure no one is left behind, set clear guidance and clear goals, generate optimism and positive energy in the team and keep productivity while working from home.Yes we can! Here's what I wrote to my team this morning, while all of us working remotely, you are welcome to use if needed. stay strong!:

Good morning team,

I hope this email finds you all well after the weekend! before we jump into updates regarding our new Corona work plan and tasks (which you all can find below, don't worry), I chose to start this email by writing you a few sincere words. 

After all the preparations made in the last few days as a company, from now on we will all work remotely from home. I completely understand that some of you feel that it is difficult, it is indeed challenging to stay at home all day, but unfortunately it is necessary, and we must act responsibly.

The coming period is a period of change. A change we did not foresee until recently, who knew that one virus would drive the whole world crazy? but as I said in our Thursday’s team meeting, every change is an opportunity! An opportunity to recalculate in light of the circumstances, to prepare ourself better as a team and as a company for the future, to examine where we can give value, how can we make an impact and what we are going to build in light of the fact that we have more free time now, and less face to face time together at the office. It’s time to dive in and explore content we haven't had time for before, it’s time to improve processes that we always wanted to improve, It's also an opportunity for learning and development. 

The coming period will require from all of us a level of maturity to accommodate the changes. It will require us to be flexible, to adapt to the new reality and to adapt to the changing needs. It will require patience and coping with uncertainty. It will require us all to stay great human beings, help each other while demonstrating a mutual responsibility, to present situational sensitivity to one another, for example when someone on our team is facing a difficulty. It will require us to stay professional, and stick to our current goals. And I know it's not easy, but we'll get through it together.

The events currently happening in the world at the health and economic aspects are affecting us all. Unfortunately, we have no control over it, but we have the ability to choose how to deal with it. Life obviously challenging us right now, and this is the way I want to suggest us all to deal with it: stay united, work together as a team, helping one another mentally and professionally, stay optimistic, and also welcome modesty (or in other words: we understand that the outside world is going crazy, because of a broad virus, which is bigger than each one of us as individuals). 

Team, no matter what will happen, no matter how uncertain the future is right now, we'll all be fine! This virus will go away eventually, there is no doubt about it, even if we don’t know when exactly,  this will come to an end, sooner or later. As long as we're all healthy and safe, all the rest will follow. Let's try to remember this in difficult moments, and strengthen each other, with the right proportions for what is important in life.

I trust you, I trust us as a team, as the best recruiting team in the world. We will make the adjustments and changes, we will grow from this era, and we will emerge from this period stronger into the future, as individuals and as a company. 

I would like to remind you all again that Bridie, Dani, Marina and I are here for you, for anything you might need, for any question you might have, any time. In addition to daily routine that will help us all to communicate, if you need to talk, please call us, don’t be a stranger, we are truly here for you! 

Let’s do this together, let’s stay safe at home, let’s stay focused. Let’s also keep smiling, take care of each other, while delivering our hiring target and building outstanding TA foundation on the best possible way (7 starts experience!). I know we can.
