Current State

Q1-2020 was tough quarter all over the world due to COVID-19 virus. As I'm blogging, the current score by John Hopkins shows 2.34 million cases with 600k recoveries and 161k confirmed deaths .

Still, we're confident that the world will bounce back with the blessing of Almighty and social support by every citizen.

Localization

As mentioned in my earlier article, the world shifted from global to local strategy due to Corona impact and lock down process.

With the current situation, localized campaign is more finely targeted due to travel & visa restrictions.

India's Stand

India has 1.4 billion people with dense living style. In spite of this operational challenge, it made a positive impact with the impressive control measure.

As per World Economic Forum, India has the upper hand against COVID-19 by

• India's 'cluster-containment' strategy means focusing on early detection of cases.
• Kerala flattened the curve via the creation of an contagion route map.
• Odisha's susceptibility to natural disaster gave it an advantage in crisis preparedness.

With the current 21+18 days lock down, India is fighting back against COVID-19 with a “cluster containment strategy” to contain the disease within a defined geographic area by early detection of cases, breaking the chain of transmission and thus preventing its spread

Dr Henk Bekedam (WHO Representative) quotes "India is at a crucial juncture in its fight against COVID-19. The country has responded with urgency and determination as reflected in the Prime Minister's bold and decisive leadership.The government has also aggressively stepped up the response measures - find, isolate, test, treat and trace." 

Social Impact

Due to last 2 months lock down impact, there are few surprising social metric, which makes us to do a serious Self Analysis.

Few scorecard to retrospect our recent values in India

• 80% improvement in air quality index
• 79% crime reduction in my local state
• 98% reduction on non essential family expenses 
• 90% reduction on routine medical expenses by citizens
• eventually, drastic reduction of 8 Lakhs death on regular diseases

How come it's possible to achieve the above social impact metric? Answer: Life style with nature

Cost Control by Government

Cost management is one of the key values in any nations' legislation and governance. Couple of instances, are here to sip the taste of India's cost control.

On 1st week of April, central government cabinet announced that country should be ready for sacrifices in its fight against the covid-19 pandemic by suspending the Member of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) fund for two years and effecting a 30% pay cut for all members of Parliament (MPs), including the prime minister and central ministers. 

One of the state (Telanga) in India, recommended to refrain from the job cuts due to the current economic situation. It's an amazing transformation in the vision and value of Indian politics. Ref: https://telanganatoday.com/refrain-from-job-cuts-ktr-appeals-to-industry-heads

In a neutral stand between employer and employee, the above proposal is quite important to analyse with the right balance.
