Slingshot Aerospace establishes new UK base to drive expansion with international government and commercial customers.?
Say hello to our newest space cluster member:?Slingshot Aerospace (UK) Ltd? Slingshot Aerospace, a leader in satellite tracking, space traffic coordination, and space modelling and simulation, is expanding its international operations with the launch of Slingshot Aerospace Ltd. Expanding into both Cornwall and London, the move will initially open up job opportunities for software engineers and data analysts in the UK.?? UK space industry veteran Melissa Quinn will step into a new role as GM of Slingshot’s international business unit, driving international expansion efforts and bringing industry-leading space data and insights to new partners across the globe.?

Cornwall Space Cluster at the 39th Space Symposium, Colorado.
As part of the South West Space Partnership, the team at Cornwall Space Cluster will attend the most prestigious event on the space calendar - the 39th Space Symposium, in Colorado, on 8-11th April, alongside Goonhilly Earth Station and Spaceport Cornwall. There are several opportunities for investors who are looking to expand into the UK, so the team are arranging meetings with interested parties.?

1st European Spaceplane Summit.
Building a community around the possibilities of the spaceplane concept.
We're thrilled to be sponsoring the 1st Spaceplane Summit and that some of the businesses who make up the Cornwall Space Cluster will be in the heart of Germany's biggest space hub, Bremen, exploring the ground breaking idea of the space plane. Spaceport Cornwall's head of engagement,?Ross Hulbert, is a keynote speaker, discussing Europe’s Future Air and Space solution. Come and see his speech on 24th April, at 2.15pm.?We'll also see?John Paffett, Managing Director of?KISPE;?Dave Pollard, skills and space cluster representative;?Dan Stembridge FRAeS?with Future Flight, and?Space Engine Systems, all representing Cornwall on the European stage. Further to this, three University of Exeter students have won a slot to join the team. Liné, Jonathan and runner-up Sascha will be travelling to the Spaceplane summit in Bremen, Germany, discussing all things new-space, and participating in the event Hackathon.

Space Comm Expo 2024.
Thank you to everyone who came to say hello at Space-Comm Expo. As always we had a very busy stand.? We had a great time meeting everyone and representing the fantastic space and data organisations based in Cornwall. Between big announcements and engaging showcases, Space Comm has been a huge success and we have learnt a lot from other clusters across the UK.

FUNDING
C-LEO programme opens with £60m for satellite constellation ideas.
The UK Space Agency can today announce that the first funding call for the Connectivity in Low Earth Orbit (C-LEO) programme, launches today, with up to £60 million being made available. ?The C-LEO programme was highlighted in the recent Spring Budget, with the Chancellor confirming that up to £160 million will be invested in UK expertise through the programme over the next four years.?Awards of up to £20 million per project will be funded both by the UK Space Agency directly and through the European Space Agency’s Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems (ARTES) programme.
