What is corn starch tableware?

Corn starch-based degradable environmentally friendly tableware is made of natural corn starch and plant fiber as the base material, supplemented by bio-polyester, polyol and other substances. Its starch content can reach up to 80%, and it can survive in the soil and natural environment. Natural degradation, no pollution or damage to the environment.


Production process

●Ingredients: Weigh qualified edible corn starch, plasticizers and additives according to the ratio specified by the process;

●High-speed mixing modification: Put the above ingredients into a high-speed mixer for high-speed mixing. While mixing at high speed, the moisture in the starch is removed and the polarity between starch molecules is changed to modify the starch; mixing When feeding, control the temperature within the range of 95-115°C.

●Extrusion granulation or tableting: Introduce the mixed raw materials into the extrusion granulator to form raw material masterbatch and then press tablets, or directly introduce the mixed raw materials into the sheet machine and press into sheets; during granulation or tableting During the process, the material should be kept in the temperature range of 180-220℃.

●Molding: Introduce the above-mentioned sheet into a hot press molding machine or vacuum blister machine to produce various disposable tableware containers. During the molding process, excessive concentrated heating of the sheet should be avoided, and the heating temperature should be kept below 220°C.

●Ultraviolet sterilization and sealed packaging: The prepared disposable tableware is sterilized by ultraviolet rays, and the sterilized disposable tableware is sealed and packaged.


Advantage

1. Appearance is magnetic white, with high surface finish, non-toxic, harmless and odorless. It is clean and hygienic due to the use of food-grade raw materials;

2. Starch is a natural polymer material. After being blended and copolymerized with plasticizers and fillers, it has sufficient mechanical strength and temperature resistance, and can fully meet the requirements for tableware;

3. Used tableware waste can be foamed and used as packaging materials or used for mushroom cultivation or other fertilizers for comprehensive utilization;

4. Due to its high starch content, it biodegrades quickly and can be degraded under natural conditions. After testing, the soil begins to become brittle after being buried for 20 days at room temperature, and can be completely degraded within 3-4 months. After use, within 3-12 months, under the erosion of natural mold, the starch and plasticizers in it become CO2 and H2O, originally inorganic material additives, are also absorbed by the soil, so they are a very ideal substitute for tableware that currently produces "white pollution";

5. No steam and organic solvents are used during the production process, and only a small amount of recyclable cooling water is used, so no waste water, waste gas, waste residue is produced, and there is no three waste pollution.

6. The production can be fully mechanized and automated, with high production efficiency. The production cost is relatively low and it is easier to market.


Prospects

Experts pointed out that since cornstarch-based tableware is disposable during use, it avoids cross-infection caused by incomplete disinfection of porcelain tableware.

At present, the demand for corn starch tableware is increasing in the domestic and international markets.
