The Corker Co 2023 Wrap Up

'Tis the time of year that we want to wrap 2023 in a bow with purpose, perspective and intention. Amidst the greatest uncertainty of the markets, the housing slowdown and jacked interest rates, along with unprecedented tech layoffs and unemployment at all time highs, I dare not say that this was an easy year. I hold the polarities of what is happening around the world with great tenderness and care while I commend those who have found great success and those who continue to uncover the diamonds, the unicorns and the one-offs.? Our mission has always been to renovate what's possible so that you can love every moment of your life, even the tough ones. Before I am too quick to share that this was a tough year for us, I pause with great perspective – because when I started this business 10 years ago, I never ever could have imagined that December 2023 would be a “challenging year” with a business update like this:

• 148 Hours of Coaching
• 48 Podcasts Produced
• 89 Job Seeking Sessions
• 335 Humans Through our Training Programs
• 200 Interviews Conducted
• 475 Candidates Headhunted
• 1,656L of water consumed during the work week*

*interrupted every zoom call accordingly!

More (and most!) importantly, we have enabled a team to make memories like this:

• 2,467km walks with pups
• Approx 150 hours of ecstatic or conscious dance
• 2 new babies are being baked
• 1 Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training was completed
• 1 New wave was surfed in the Philippines
• 16,778km relocated from Mauritius to Canada
• 150 Lunches made for school days
• 75,000 Loads of Laundry done for 2nd child
• Time and Dollars were generously donated to mentorship, Wirth, BC Women's Hospital Foundation.

As the smart businesswoman that I am , I consulted a smarter business woman who specializes in corporate communications to say: How do I tell the truth this year? What is the acceptable storyline when running a business without shareholders to hide behind? We concluded that the headliners of “starting in your garage” and the “exits of landing a whale of a great deal” really miss out on the perspective of being in the middle. The mid-life moments of a business are in fact what makes up most of the lifespan of the business. I turned 40 this year and I think I am too, having a mid-life moment. (I get it now!)

So it is on purpose and with great perspective that I share what ten years later looks like in hopes that you too can find the magic in these moments. The team has prepared another WrapUp document to help you wrap a bow on all that has been in 2023.?
