Core Visuals Vision Board

Core Visuals Vision Board

We believe that?clear, up-to-date, and relevant information?is essential to building a strong and confident relationship with all of you. That’s why we’re introducing our latest resource: the?Core Visuals Vision Board.

We noticed that many of you were navigating multiple channels to share comments and make requests. To simplify this, our new Vision Board consolidates it into a single, comprehensive resource that brings everything together for your convenience.

At a glance, you'll notice the Core Visuals Team has been diligently compiling all the upcoming features and improvements, ranging from new visualizations to enhancements in existing functionalities.

The Core Visuals Vision Board is all about you being an integral part of our journey.

Getting started with the new Vision Board

Navigating through?the Core Visuals Vision Board is a breeze. You can explore curated epic ideas, cast your votes, and add comments,?for the features that matter most to you. This ensures that our priorities reflect your preferences. Plus, you’ll have instant visibility into what’s?completed,?under development, and?pending.

Let’s explore the Vision Board together and learn about everything it has to offer.

Disclaimer: The Core Visuals Vision Board is a dynamic tool that will evolve as we further develop and enhance our core visuals. The dashboard images are for reference only and serve as a conceptual guide, not the final outcome.

Navigation Hub: Visual Insights

The Navigation Hub serves as your starting point, allowing you to explore options from the Visual insights section. Here, you can select from the variety of visualizations, components, elements, styles, interactive attributes, or canvas features, before exploring the corresponding Epic Ideas.

Epic Ideas

Epic Ideas?represent all the valuable feedback and insights that have been distilled and curated from customer and community comments, suggestions, ideas, and requests, and then transformed into actionable and deliverable feature sets. This information is collected from our Fabric ideas site, community discussions, surveys, or direct input from users, and help shape our development roadmap.

By selecting a Visual insights category in the Navigation Hub, and then a sub-category, you’ll observe the available Epic Ideas to choose from.

Epic Idea: Current Status

After selecting a Visual insights sub-category, we’ve made it easy for you to quickly see the current status of each Epic Idea. At a glance, you can see what’s?completed, under development, and?pending.

Progress bar

The Progress bar, located in the header above the Epic Idea description, allows you to see exactly what's happening and where things currently stand.?

Occasionally, the Progress bar will show steps that are dependent on other Epic Ideas awaiting completion. These dependencies will display the name of the dependent Epic Idea and the Visual Insights category it belongs to.

Progress bar markers

We made the Progress bar markers easy to understand, so you'll find them very straightforward. A lock means the Epic Idea is currently not available for development until other dependencies are completed. An empty circle indicates that the Epic Idea is pending, or available for development. A bullseye indicates that the dependent Epic Idea is currently under development. A checkmark shows that a dependent Epic Idea has been completed.

Description and image

For each Epic Idea, we've included a description and representative image to illustrate the concept. Keep in mind that images displayed in the dashboard are intended to serve as a conceptual guide rather than the final development outcome.

Feature list

The?Feature list?tab includes three sortable columns that provide key details about Features, current Status, and available Learn links.

The Features column showcases individual, deliverable items that the Core Visuals Team is actively developing. The Status column allows you to quickly see what features are completed, under development, and pending.

When available, the Learn column includes links that will direct you to the corresponding Power BI article on Microsoft Learn, providing a clear explanation of the feature and how it works. As we continue to enhance and add new Core Visuals content to Microsoft Learn, more of these links will become available.

Fabric ideas

The?Fabric ideas?tab is a collection of individual ideas that our team has gathered, classified, and organized under each selected Epic Idea.

We’re committed to reviewing all individual ideas dating back to 2015 and fully integrate them into our comprehensive collection of Epic Ideas on our Vision Board.

From the Fabric ideas tab, you can view the entire collection of individual ideas related to the Epic Idea you've selected. Each idea includes a link to the Fabric ideas site, where you can view the idea, cast your vote, or leave a comment.

Click to vote

The Click to vote button is a crucial part of our Vision Board, and your vote matters!

The cumulative number of Total votes displayed here helps the Core Visuals Team establish priorities for upcoming deliverables and timelines for our Roadmap.

You might notice that some completed Epic ideas have received fewer votes but are already completed. This is because they were quick and easy to complete or were likely needed to fulfill other high-demand Epic ideas.

By selecting the Click to vote button, you'll be directed to the Fabric ideas site. But, instead of just voting on the individual Fabric ideas, you can vote and comment directly on the selected Epic idea.

You can vote for your favorite Epic Ideas and add comments too, but don't forget to vote on the dependent Epic Ideas after checking the Progress bar.

After voting, don’t worry if the Total votes doesn’t immediately reflect your vote, the Core Visuals Vision Board is refreshed daily at the end of the day, not in real-time.

Collaborating with the Core Visuals Team

Starting in 2025, you’ll still be able to submit new ideas to the Fabric ideas site, however, please note that the Core Visuals Team won’t be able to review or classify these new submissions until we complete the classification of older ideas.

The best way to collaborate with our Core Visuals Team, to ensure your voice is heard, is to?vote?and comment on an Epic Idea that closely aligns with any features you’re looking for. Adding new individual ideas on the Fabric ideas site is not recommend at this time.

Summary

With its user-friendly interface and relevant information, the Core Visuals Vision Board is an invaluable resource designed to keep you engaged and informed.

By exploring, voting, and commenting on Epic Ideas, you can connect with the Core Visuals Team and play a crucial role in shaping the development of our Core Visuals.

In the weeks ahead, you’ll have access to our Roadmap allowing you to review our timeline for features, enhancements, and development. How’s that for transparency?
