Do you write marketing copy?
Or just want to write in a more compelling way?
The aim of copy is simple.
To Create Engagement!
To get people's attention and create the desire to continue reading!
It's a skill.
Of course practice makes perfect but for me, this image below gives a great starting point to thinking about how you write!
Mixing it up.
Short sentences... longer sentences. Conversational writing is something so many companies fail at as they seem to start using a weird "corporate" type language which sometimes is a style even small companies adopt.
Weird if you think about it!
Companies are made up of other humans...
Who probably talk in the same way you do (of course there's no "probably" about it.. they DEFINITELY do!!!)
So why write in a impersonal manner that fails to create any emotional connection at all!
Have you seen this type of copy in emails, on websites, marketing collateral?
It's just not cool if you ask me!
Be personal.
Be human.
Be real.. and be YOU!
Not everyone will like you or what you do... get over it!!
But some people will if you are authentic.
That's my view anyway.
