SEO Isn't Dead (Again)
Nikki Pilkington
Non-wanky SEO and SEO Content. They say you can't know Technical SEO AND copywriting - I can. And do.
Hey hey, February's in full swing and the SEO world is as chaotic as ever. Google's throwing consent forms at us, everyone's obsessed with AI search, and somewhere, someone's still trying to stuff keywords into their meta keywords tag (bless them).
This month, we're diving into everything from Google's latest consent needs to why you might be giving away your valuable traffic without realising it. Plus, I've got a brand new course coming and a webinar that'll give you three quick wins you can implement today.
Make yourself the beverage of your choice - we've got a lot to cover.
Google's Having A Consent Crisis (And It Might Cost You)
Remember when website cookies were just something you clicked 'okay' to and forgot about? Those days are gone, and if you're not handling consent properly, it could apparently cost you up to 4% of your global revenue. Ouch.
Google's latest Consent Mode V2 isn't just another update to ignore - it's their response to the Digital Marketing Act, and it's something UK businesses need to get their heads around sharpish. Think it only applies to you if you're doing PPC ads? It doesn't.

Nobody Ever Got Excited About a Faceless Corporation
I mean, it's not rocket science is it? People prefer dealing with actual humans rather than corporate robots. Yet here we are in 2025, with businesses still churning out personality-free content like it's going out of style (it went out of style about 10 years ago, by the way).
Want to know why personal brand authority matters more than ever? And how to build it without sounding like every other "thought leader" on LinkedIn?

Register now, there'll be a recording: Nikki's webinar
Every few months, someone announces the death of SEO. This year it's AI search that's supposedly killing it. Before that it was voice search, mobile-first, featured snippets... you get the idea.
SEO in 2025 isn't dying - it's evolving, just like it always has. Yes, AI is changing how we approach search. Yes, there are new challenges to tackle. But the fundamentals still matter - creating brilliant content, understanding your audience, and building genuine authority.
There's a lot to learn (hence the course and webinar above), but don't let anyone tell you it's all doom and gloom. If anything, proper SEO is more important than ever. Just leave the keyword stuffing in 2010 where it belongs.
BONUS TIP: Take a look at your competitors' most popular blog posts. Don't copy them (obviously), but look at what topics they're covering and how they're structuring their content. Then do it better. Much better.
Always non-wanky,
Nikki x
P.S. Seriously though, check out that course. It's everything I wish someone had told me when I started in on-page SEO, without all the faff.
