In Business Central (Not in NAV), you can see "Posted General Journal" Document. It's a simple and easiest tool which will be beneficial for Accounting Team and users. When working with large journals, it is important to have an easy way to correct mistakes. The copy journals function helps your accountant be more productive when correcting mistakes.
To achieve this, you need to do just one setup at " General Journal Template" page.
Make "Copy to Posted Jnl. Lines" Check box TRUE, by doing so System will make Check box TRUE for there relevant BATCHES also.
Important Notes:
1.You can't make "Copy to Posted Jnl. Lines" Check box TRUE direct at Batches Level. System will give an error of "Copy to Posted Jnl. Lines must be equal to 'Yes' in Gen. Journal Template: Name=GENERAL. Current value is 'No' ".
2. If you have multiple Batches against specific General Journal Template, But As per company you need to keep "Copy to Posted Jnl. Lines" Check box TRUE only for few batches, then to do so Please Untick the Check box from that Batches.
Transaction:
Once you post the General Journal Entries, System will create one Posted Document i.e., "Posted General Journal".
At Posted General Journal Page, Microsoft have provided 3 Functionality: 1. Copy Selected Lines to Journal/ Copy G/L Register to Journal: It is used to Copy the Line Entries at General Journal via Batch Job.
Target Journal Template: In which General journal Template users want to copy the Line Entries. Target Journal Batch: In which Batches of General Journal Template userswant to copy the Line Entries. Replace Posting Date/ Replace Document No.: If users want to replace the Posting date and Document No. Reverse Sign: If the users want to reverse the amount of Line Entries, DR -> CR/ CR->DR.
2. Correct Dimension: From Posted General Journal Page, users will able to correct the dimension of G/L Entries only.
3. Find Entries: Users will able to navigate the G/L Entries and Balancing Entries also.
END
Hope this will help.
