Copy & Move issues for Jira newbies

As a Jira newbie, we have all been to that point where we wonder if we should be moving an issue or if cloning will be the best option, and when we're about to ask our dear colleagues what we should do, we end up thinking that it's a very ??d?u?m?b? basic question ??

First, you may be wondering what the actual difference is inside the tool.

In Jira:

"Copy" creates a new issue that is a duplicate of an existing one, with the option to make changes to the new issue before it is created.

"Clone" also creates a new issue that is a duplicate of an existing one but allows you to make changes to the new issue and also carry over all the linked issues, attachments, and comments.

"Move" changes the location of an existing issue to a different project or issue type.

Now that you know what happens on the backstage, you may be wondering in which cases to use each fonctionnality. Worry no more, we've listed for you the most frequent cases where copying is needed and when moving is best??
