"Sustainability is a critical aspect of our business, integrated into every facet of our operations" states Forto’s CEO Michael Wax. The company's commitment is quantified through ambitious, science-based targets validated by the SBTi:

• Scope 1 & 2 Emissions: Aim to reduce by 42% by 2030.
• Scope 3 Emissions from Maritime Transport: Reduction target of 35.6% within the same period. Any remaining scope 3 emissions will be reduced by 42% within the same timeframe.

Innovation at the Helm: Operational Sustainability Highlights

Forto’s operational strategies have turned sustainability goals into tangible outcomes:

• 154,009 t CO2e Total emissions in 2023
• 70% of our customers take climate action with us, choosing from an expanding range of sustainability solutions that now extend beyond just emission management
• 5 tons of waste were processed through Ocean Plastic Reduction, a new product launched in 2023 that underlines Forto comprehensive approach to environmental sustainability.

The launch of the Ocean Plastic Prevention initiative is a prime example. “Plastic pollution in our oceans is a serious problem that needs immediate attention,” said Achim Juechter, Director of Sustainable Logistics at Forto. “We believe that businesses have a significant role to play in protecting our planet. With our Ocean Plastic Prevention service, every shipment can contribute directly to reducing ocean plastic.
