At COP28 UAE , we announced a step up in OGCI's activities to detect methane emissions and cut routine flaring. Reducing methane emissions to near zero by 2030 is one of the best short-term opportunities for the industry to advance the Paris Agreement ambitions. That's why we're expanding our program to support more companies in detecting and measuring methane emissions.

OGCI is excited to lead work to set up the Oil & Gas Decarbonization Charter (OGDC) launched last week at COP28. OGCI's Executive Committee Chair, Bj?rn Otto Sverdrup called it an important milestone and said OGCI would share the knowledge and experience gained from a decade of work on emissions reductions.
