In response to Storm Eowyn that left thousands across Ireland without electricity, The Connacht Hotel opened its doors to the local community, offering a warm and welcoming space for those in need. As part of this initiative, The AVIARY was made available as a free communal workspace all week long, providing a comfortable and reliable spot for remote work. Whether locals needed to catch up on emails, take meetings, or simply find a quiet place to focus, The AVIARY offered free WiFi, ample space, and a complimentary in-room tea & coffee station. The Connacht Hotel was proud to support the community during this challenging time, ensuring that those affected had a place to work, connect, and recharge.
We were delighted to host the guys from Tribe Gin for a wonderful Gin Masterclass here in The Connacht Hotel in January. The night was a celebration of the wonderful world of Gin, at the first Mobile Tasting & Distilling experience in the fully accessible The Connacht Hotel. The gin school is on the first floor of their building in Salthill. This has meant that it is not accessible for everyone as there are a lot of stairs as well as a multi level floorplan in the gin school. Attendees also got to enjoy delicious canopes from the Connacht Hotel, it was just one of a number of events planned for the beautiful event space that is the Aviary.
December is a very busy time in the Connacht Hotel and as one of the most popular Family Friendly Hotels in Ireland we decided to run a competition for our younger guests. For the month of December children visiting the hotel were invited to take part in a colouring competition with a fantastic prize of an overnight stay for their family. The standard was extremely impressive with our judges having a very difficult task to pick one winner from the over 500 entries. After the success of this, colouring competitions will be a regular feature over the coming months.
And that's all from this month's edition of The Connacht Monthly. Thanks for stopping by!
