Copper Candle Announces “The Lost Song” a gamified true story about the Chicago House music scene

Lisbon, November 12, 2024 — At this year’s Websummit, Copper Candle, a leader in virtual entertainment, is thrilled to announce its latest collaboration: “The Lost Song.” This immersive experience, set in Copper House, a virtual venue within Fortnite, unveils a gamified adventure story about a legacy Chicago House song that has been locked away for 40 years.? The story is based on fact, the song is real, and the game challenges conventional ideas of music ownership inviting audiences to discover The Lost Song.??

The announcement of “The Lost Song” explores the relationship between DJs/Producers Nick Nonstop, James “DJ Diego”, Steve Simmons, Farley Jackmaster Funk and the notorious record labels of the day, who infamously became entwined in a story about the iconic track House Nation.? DJ Nick Nonstop, Steve Simmons and James “Diego” Anderson, the original creators of House Nation, allege that their original version of the song, created in Ray “Tom Tom” basement, and then handed to a local Chicago radio DJ for airplay, was hijacked and later released by Housemaster Boys and sampled by many others throughout the decades. Nick, Diego and Steve all gutted by the experience, have never released the original (1985) track—until now through collaboration with Copper Candle. “The Lost Song” will bring this history to life in a virtual experience where fans will step into a musical Chicago House environment and piece together the sounds of House Nation, reclaiming the “lost” music in an interactive way.??

Copper Candle’s goal is to revolutionise how live events can be experienced in and through Copper House, a purpose-built metaverse venue in Fortnite where music, story, and gameplay collide. The forthcoming “The Lost Song” will invite players to navigate a vibrant House music scene, uncover the layers of House Nation, and actively participate in a narrative that brings fans face-to-face with the story of music ownership, legacy, and artistic integrity.??

James, CEO of Copper Candle, commented on the announcement: “We’re excited to announce this collaboration at Websummit and to share our vision for the future of virtual music experiences. With Copper House, we’re not just delivering music; we’re creating stories that audiences can explore and participate in, giving fans a voice in uncovering and reimagining legendary tracks like House Nation.”

?Websummit attendees are invited to meet with Copper Candle to learn more about this upcoming project and discover how Copper House is reshaping live music experiences in the metaverse. This collaboration signals the beginning of a new chapter in digital entertainment, where artists, audiences, and stories come together to create unforgettable experiences.?
