Address the injustices of inequities
The ricochet effects of the Covid pandemic have shattered the glass fragilities of our political, economic and healthcare systems. This crisis has revealed, triggered and/or exacerbated political, racial, social, gender, economic, criminal, environmental and legal inequities and injustices on a grand and global scale.
- What is the elephant in the room?
- What are we are not talking?
- How can we talk about this taboo topic in ways that leads us to take action?
The birth of this elephant can be traced back to the 1493 papal Doctrine of Discovery. This elephant is white advantage, privilege and supremacy along with indigenous genocide.
The Covid crisis has also re-opened deep painful wounds of wealthism arising from structural economism: systems that elevate the wealthy elites and marginalizes the poor. Its aftermath will have a profound impact on reversing the progress made in reducing global poverty. Use the links to learn more about specific topics in addressing this questions.
- What is your opinion on addressing the injustices of inequities?
