Copa Airlines to launch nonstop flights between Austin and Panama City - A GAME CHANGER for all the Texans in the house, this will be great news. ???

AUSTIN, Texas — A new airline is set to touch down at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) later this year.

Copa Airlines will be launching a nonstop service to Panama City, Panama, starting July 6. Based in Panama, Copa will become the sixth international airline to operate out of Austin, with this city marking its 15th U.S. destination.

“This exciting announcement has been years in the making,” said AUS CEO Jacqueline Yaft. “We’re thrilled to welcome Copa Airlines to Austin and can’t wait for Austinites and Central Texans to explore the rich culture, history, and community of Panama City. With this route, AUS is proud to offer even more convenient options connecting Central Texas to Central and South America, bringing economic and tourism benefits for generations.”

AUS emphasized that the new route opens up connections to over 55 destinations across Latin America, thanks to Copa’s Hub of the Americas at Panama City’s Tocumen Airport.

Tom Noonan, president and CEO of Visit Austin, added, “The Copa route from Panama City to Austin is the first nonstop flight from Central America to AUS. This speaks volumes about Austin’s growing appeal as a premier destination, and we’re thrilled Copa has chosen to invest in our city.”

Nonstop service on flight CM 0716 will depart Austin at 3:34 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, arriving in Panama City at 8:16 p.m. Return flights on CM 0715 will leave Panama City at 9:18 a.m. and land in Austin at 2:04 p.m. These flights will be serviced by Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
