COP28 climate financing discussion
ABC (Aboriginal Biodiversity Conservation) Foundation Ltd
Aboriginal people leading the growth of a sustainable land and sea economy.
What has become very obvious to our Managing Director, Alison Sentance, as she continues her observations at #COP28 is the overwhelming lack of suitable climate financing.
Alison says "As the global financial contribution to climate action is significantly under-valued and resourced, how will First Nations people living in remote and regional areas of Australia and across the Pacific who already have inadequate housing and limited energy supply be considered?"
Alison say businesses and philanthropists need to dig deep and step into the climate financing space not only for developing countries but for our First Nation people in Australia.
Looking ahead, the ABC Future Fund, as the public fund within the ABC Foundation will be available to play a significant role in supporting grassroots but scalable First Nation climate action.
Alison is keen to connect across all sectors of government, industry and philanthropy to showcase the ABC Foundation’s innovative social enterprise approaches, especially the work being done in the carbon and environmental services space with the ability to tackle large scale, national climate solutions while investing back into communities where it is needed most.
