MasTec Industrial Corporation Partners with Minnkota Power Cooperative for Project Tundra: Leading the Way in Carbon Capture and Storage

MasTec Industrial Corporation (MIC) has been awarded a professional services contract by Minnkota Power Cooperative to provide construction management consulting services for Project Tundra, which would be the world’s largest coal-based carbon capture facility.

?

Project Significance

Project Tundra aims to annually capture up to 4 million metric tons of carbon emissions from the 705-megawatt Milton R. Young Station. This coal-based power plant located near Center, N.D., provides essential reliability and resiliency to the regional electric grid, especially during times of extreme cold conditions. Project Tundra will ensure continued dependable operation of the facility with substantially lower emissions.
